How can you effectively sell your product to Eurasian Market? Pt I

Eurasia is not USA. Yes, this sounds like tautology, but stay tuned and let me explain. By saying Eurasia, I mean Russia in the first place. Yes, that country of contrasts, where business mechanism vastly differs from Europe’s and USA’s.

The first thing you should know before developing a marketing strategy to invade to Eurasian market is that – it’s very diverse. That’s why, you can’t afford yourself to blindly believe in market research results. Cause in Russia poverty and wealthiness exist very close to each other. Cities that are highly adapted for foreign product and investment alternate with those which are totally closed for any kind of foreign economical impact.  

Russian economy varies a lot  on all of it’s territory

So how to act?

While planning your product’s integration strategy in Eurasian market focus on as little territory as possible. You shall always keep in mind, that the fact that your product is being sold perfectly well in Moscow, doesn’t mean that it can’t be a total failure in St. Petersburg(even though they have almost the same demographics). By now, you probably think that the things I say are common for market of any country. And you’re absolutely right. But here’s what makes the real difference:

Though Russian market may seem not very welcoming; it’s not oversaturated with high-quality products and opens great opportunities for foreign business expansion

When you launch a product in two cities with similar demographics of the same country in Europe you can very reasonably expect that the difference in sales rates in those 2 won’t exceed 5%. Maximum 10%. But that’s it. Scattering rate very rarely outruns those 10%.

But when you start a product promotion campaign in Russia, in 2 cities with same percentage of your prospects among the population, same religious views, same mentality e.t.c you can easily get the sales scattering rate to be 20%; 40% and up to 60%

So, once again, rule #1:

While planning to launch the product to Eurasian market, set your market research’s territorial borders as narrow as possible.  

Why do They Laugh Behind the Scene?

Have you ever wondered why do they turn on laughter track after the joke in sitcoms? What; can’t we figure out ourselves at which moment to burst in laughter? Well, I’ll give you an ambiguous kind of answer. It’s the same reason the piano player in the bar puts a few 5$ bills in a tip jar, at the beginning of the night. The signal. As confident creature as a man’s supposed to be, he needs a signal to know for sure when to laugh and how much to tip the piano player, so that the girl next to him won’t assume that he’s a greedy guy. 

They turn on audience’s laughter track in sitcoms, so that you’ll never miss the “funny” part

What does this all have to do with copywriting?

You can use that signal to enhance the selling power of your copy. Especially on your web site. To do this, you just need to show your website visitor, that other people like himself have used your product. And guess what? They loved it!

If you include enough positive, customer feedbacks about your services; that will transfer a message: “1000 people were satisfied by the quality of the product and services the company provides. That many people just can’t be wrong. You have to try this!”. Consciously or unconsciously prospect will get the message, and he will act. Well in this case he’ll act by clicking on the “purchase” button.

All we need huh?

The most intimate and warming button for the internet-marketer’s heart

Want to know how to make that “Buy Now” signal even stronger?

To triple the effect of the “signal” show the prospect that people who are SMARTER than him chose your product. To do that you just have to include a statement like this: “43 heart surgeons used our CLIENT-MAGNET system and multiplied their annual income by 3x!”. Yes, and you better make sure to include a couple of feedbacks from those heart surgeons, so that your statement will look trustworthy. 

 Building trust, for the future clients

“The signal” discussed above does 2 great favors to your product’s marketing:

1.      The positive feedback from customers who used your product makes your company trustworthy in the eyes of the prospect.

2.      It pushes prospect’s hot “Everybody else is doing this, so I should be too” button.

Ho Chi Minh day 1-2

Hehe poor blog..blom pape dh diabaikan

Hello!

Zuhri and co are now in Ho Chi Minh since yesterday. Just finished shopping at Ben Tham market. Ok ok la price dia. Bought 2 sets of table cloth, 4 top+2 pants for me, hubs bought a few polo shirts, zoffea some awesomely cute smocking dresses anddd si shopaholic zaffar got himself 4 tops and 2 shorts. Since dia dh besar, we let him choose his own tshirts and pants. Pandai lak tu. 'Papar wants this one in red, that one in green...'. Tiba time hubs nk byr tgk brg zaffar plg byk n mhl >_<

Mama and aunties pun ikut. Ofcos la lg shopping sakan. Org dh blk hotel, diorg letak brg n kluar blk second round haha. I should get myself some telekung and hubs nak tempah sluar anddd we still need to find our baju raya. Hampeh sungguh. Sume buat last minute!

Oh oh oh and I need to get myself some massage and medi pedi. Question is, sempat keeee?? Obviously kne tgu zaffar zoffea sleep mlm nnt utk dating berdua dgn hubs

Org2 kat sni friendly. And they speak bahasa fluently. But what I'm not comfortable with is that diorg suka nk dukung my kids. Nak cuit2 la pegang2 la. I don't like it! Infact I'm a bit paranoid abt it.

Paranoid because of wut happened to Madeline McCann. I bought a book written by her mom at Heathrow Airport. And eye opener for me. Kisahnya, madeline was kidnapped when she was on a vacation w her family in Portugal. In 2007. She was 3+ at that time,only a few days till her 4th birthday. Was sleeping peacefully w her twins siblings in the kids room on a private villa when her parents were having dinner. Kidnapped and until now x jumpe. Heartbreaking story. Especially bile baca apa yang her mom tulis. I spend most of my time in the plane back to KL reading that book.

So since then bile travel je rasa paranoid. Mmg kt x patut buruk sangka to other ppl. But prevention is better kan. We never knew apa intention org and sgt sgt sgt takut of the unthinkable things happen to my kids. Lg2 pergi tmpt rmai org like just now. Hubs carried zaffar gune carrier and I made sure either me,mom or aunties je yg bergilir carry zoffea. No one else. Biarla I nmpk mcm org gilak terpekik terlolong asik ckp 'zaffar pimpin tgn,jgn pergi jauh2' dari terpekik terlolong if smtg happen kan. Nauzubillah

Its 5:30pm now in Saigon and am waiting for hubs to buy us dinner. Makan dlm bilik je. Tomorrow ade city tour and will update about it bile ade masa

Fea Cookies Almond Biscotti-the story

The story

All these while mkn biscotti masa dine kat Dome. Then late last year, bought one jar from a blogger. Then dunno where to buy dah haha

Both me and hubs loves it. Its thin, its crispy and its definitely good for snacks. Bukak sebalang arini, esok licin dah.

Kebetulan, one nite when we are having dinner in one of the restaurant near our home, the kedai jual. So without hesitation, terus beli and as expected, finished the whole jar the next day

So hubs suggested. Why not we try to bake this 'addictive drug' (as we call it, heh)

So beriye la beli itu ini, google here n there, u tube and all

First try, slh buat

Second try, bakar2 tp xjadik2

Third try, give upppp

Forth try, eh sedap la

nth try, sayang jom jual!

And so here we are, selling our Almond Biscotti at RM17/jar

And as of date, alhamdulillah, sambutan menggalakkan :)

Last year zaffar was invited by his tumbletots classmate, Qistina to Young Chef Academy in Hartamas to a Halloween Party. So comel. Dressed him up as a Pirate as he was into Jake and the Neverland Pirates back then.

He was so excited but as expected, masa sampai dia malu2 and buat perangai and cried! Ceh. Party pooper btol. So we end up to leave the party early coz hubs said nnt kacau budak lain having fun. pffftt

Just this morning when I was driving him to school, he mentioned about that party. He remembered about that pirate costume and qistina's princess costume >_<

So I asked him

Zaffar nak g Halloween Party lagi?

Yes, papar nak g Halloween Party

Okay, we'll go w zoffea this year okay

*grinning* fofia jadik princess

Yes, zoffea jadik princess, zaffar nak jadik pirate lg?

No!

Then nak jadik apa?

Sylvester!! I wanna be Sylvester. Sylvester eats Tweety bird.

Maya Zoffea is 6 months today!

Oh how time flies.

For me her name is so unique. The meaning behind her name is Maya means Princess, and Sofea (Zoffea, as we spelled it) means Beautiful. And indeed she is my beautiful princess :)

It wasn't confirmed that I'll be having a girl until I was about 5 months long. But I was really really so badly hoping that I am. Me and hubs, we've already agreed of a name, if we have a girl but somehow we didn't use it. Instead, we cracked our head to think of a new one. Obviously her initial should be MZ (similar to hubs and zaffar) and I wanted her name to have consonant Z and F and have 6 letters in it. Talk about detailing,huh. Oh and plg mencabar, kene ada meaning :). Pikir punye pikir punye pikir, tercipta la name Zoffea

So since then, we called her zoffea. Told zaffar that he can call his sister 'zoffea'. But zaffar was pelat abit. So everytime dia baring atas my tummy, dia panggil 'Opiaya' hehe too cute >_<

Next challenge is to find her first name. Tibe2 je xle pikir name starts w the letter M. Hahaha. Hubs and I came out w a list. Every night dok google names. List kemain pjg tp asik x puas hati. I remember tweeting about it and asking from friends kot2 ade name best starting from M. Punnn tak berkenan. Bile dah masuk 3rd trimester baru me and hubs decided on Maya and yg plg best time tu cte Ombak Rindu tgh hit. So cun cun ar gune name Maya tu :)

So there u are, the history of the name 'Maya Zoffea'

Since then zoffea ade byk nicknames. Me and hubs call her Fia. Zaffar calls her Fofia and sometimes, Poya hehe. And fia also ade song sndr which goes like this

Zof-fe-a ya ya ya.... :)

I love u my dearest maya zoffea. Everyday 27th is ur birthday until I say so hehehe

World map...on my bed

Zaffar ada katil sndr. Rite next to us. Zaffar's bed on my right, zoffea's on my left. But every single day, zaffar will panjat naik our bed and tdo melintang in btwn me n hubby. Kepala on my tummy and kaki on hubs's muka. Habit. Tuh pun nasib fia xpandai manjat lg. If not, merasa la mama n daddy tdo atas lantai haha

Zaffar mmg sng muntah. Mkn ubat, muntah. Overdose susu, muntah. Tgk org lain muntah, pun muntah. So this morning, when he asked for susu and membintang kat katil ktorg, mcm dh dpt agak pasni dia termuntah. Elok lps susu, terbatuk plak. Mmg dh sign la tu. Nasib me and hubs dh standby, cpt2 melarikan diri dlu and watched him muntah. On our bed. Utk kesekian kalinya

Mmg katil ktorg ni dah berpeta2. If bukan muntah stain, its kencing stain. Mamat tula punye keje haha.

Hrmmm, time for a new bed pulak kot

Dr Mama on duty

Woke up slightly late today. Mana taknya, berjaga watching England vs Italy. Although x tgk smpi penalty coz so so sleepy. England kalah. Heh! ;p

Viva Espana!!

Bought the kiddos to Pantai today. Zoffea mmg ade appointment for her 6mo jab. And zaffar, eversince start skola asik flu je. Berjangkit one another. Now jangkit kat zoffea jgk. So alang2, bwk both to see their Paeds, Dr Foo

Zoffea is now weighing at 6.3kg. Not much frm last timbang aritu. Compared to zaffar ms 6months dlu dh reached 7.8kg hehe.

Septtnya, at this age zoffea dh master in meniarap. But she only did it a few times then takmo dah. Haha. Its ok la sayang, take ur time. Abg zaf dlu gitu jgk. Xgerak lgsg. Alih2 terus ddk je :)

As of now, I'm trying to put Fia to sleep. Nap time. Tp she seems susah nak bernafas. Must be because of the blocked nose. But hubs already gave her 1.5ml of Ventolin. Hope japlg she feels much better. Xtdo mlm lg la jawabnya.

Okla, putting the Doctor hat now. Cheerios :)

Quiet Night

Thank you Baby for inviting me to be a part of your blog as a guest author.

I love quiet nights regardless of whether I'm going to be hit by Monday blues or not because spending time with wifey without the interruption and hassle and bustle of day time give us more quality time.

I was woken up about 1am with a wish of monthlyniversary. Since then we enjoyed a cup of hot milo watching desperate housewife season 8 trying to catch up with the series on tv and also now catching on the tight match between England and Italy.

The episode on DH gives a lot of perspective and I must say the series really deep dive on ordinary people daily lives. When Susan gave a speech during Mike's funeral, wifey cried assuming she's thinking about how it feels losing people.

What touched me is that whether I've expressed enough to her on how much I love her. Please know that you mean the world to me, before, now and forever.

Love you once, Love you twice, Love you more than beans and rice.

TWO nights back, hubs asked the unthinkable question.

If ade fire and u can save only one of us (zaffar,zoffea or himself), who would u choose?

My reaction was

What da?? Invalid question. Nextttt

Then it got me thinking. And praying.

Ya Allah, jauhkan lah kami sekeluarga dari bahaya dan musibah.

I don't wanna be in that situation. And I definitely don't wanna choose. I rather selamatkan everyone and let me burnt down sorg2. Like seriously.

Lembah Keramat

THE place where I grew up. The best place in the world hihi.

Since 1990-2007, I have stayed in tmn permata,au5,wangsa maju,wangsa melawati,bukit antarabangsa,au3,au4. Easier to say ktorg org nomad. And pindah pun pusing2 area keramat jgk

Being graduated from smk lembah keramat,I must say I had a blast during my high school years. That is where I met my BFF(s). My kita-awak-we-share-loads-of-secrets-that-noone-should-know kindda frens. U jump,I jump la kiranya. I'm glad I met them. Will blog abt them in upcoming posts

Oh and the best things about keramat is the food. I mean where can u find the best nasi lemak rendang+sotong,the best nasi ayam hainan,the best kebab daging xnak sayur sos lebih,the best putu mayam,the best ns kandar ayam goreng+char kuey tiaw+puree+capati sardine other than area2 keramat. Gosh listing all that is making me hungry! And just so u know almost every wknd my hubs and i will drive from our house to keramat. Mkn punye pasal. Xjauh pun. Kluar nkve masuk duke dah sampai :)

Other than foods, keramat mmg a safe place. To me at least. Situlah tempat main basikal, main rollerblade, lepak kat skate park, beli gula2 kat mamak sulaiman, makan megi n sengkuang kat padang. Man I missed those days

Why pindah frm keramat u asked?of course la sbb kawen. But believe me, keramat tetap di hati. Forever and ever :)

Let it be told that this blog is purely for me to keep a journal of what my usual day to day activities, to express my feelings and to share it w my loved ones. Hubs dr dlu suh tulis blog as he is a blogger himself. Dlu time nk ngurat suh baca blog dia. Haha ayat manissss jek

To be honest the reason y I finally succumb to blogging is takut lupe cerita2 best esp pasal my growing up babies, Zaffar n Zoffea. And what drives me to do so is after reading fb status from my bro's fren punya mom. She's very expressive. She once wrote a status ms anak dia punye bday and it made me cry. Me. Yg xde kne mengena w tat family pun leh sebak. Hormones haha. So kengkonon nak be just like her laa so that bile zaffar n zoffea besar esok, bole la baca stories from mama dia >_< cliche je ayat :p

Ok then, will write again soon. Kiddos already asleep so its mama-daddy time. Desperate Housewives season 8 marathon is waiting. Till then, remember, its never too late....
